About Gabrielle Gerard
I have always felt a certain way about taking pictures. Capturing raw emotions and savoring every memory. I was always the girl who posted way more than she should have. There was even a Facebook group made about me — like a petition to get me off of Facebook for posting too many pictures, made by senior boys in my high school when I was 16 years old. They even put my head on a gremlins body. This is my come back story.
I have always dreamt about this being my thing — like an artistic escape… but I simply wouldn’t spend the money on myself just to have fun with a new hobby.
It only took a few dreamy conversations about this said “hobby” until my husband came home and surprised me with my first *real* camera. I was over the moon. If he believed in me, I had to too.
I have spent every minute of my free time behind a lens since. My dog, Phoebe, has been my muse. Although words and phrases like aperture, ISO, and shutter speed were intimidating I kept playing around with settings in manual mode and found inspiration all around. The things I’d look at and pass by every single day that were boring, were suddenly vivid.
Not only do I strive to capture my own moments— I want to capture yours. I want to bring this crazy world to life and create and capture what is usually unseen and forgotten. The little moments and details that mean so much.
